Schedule data refresh from Analysis services based on parameter
Hi
We have a global dashboard where we would like to schedule data refresh based on the end of business day of local regio. For example US and Canada refresh is at 10:00 PM PST and Europe refreshes at 11:00 AM PST. The challenge is since it's an analysis services data source and data is refreshing in the same table in PBI, we are not able to find a way to do this. If this was based on SQL query we could have set up two data flows to append in the same table.
Appreciate any suggestions the PBI gurus here have.. Thanks,

Anonymous - I'm not sure I completely understand this. Is it a problem if US and Canada data gets updated Europe gets updated and then again when it is EOD US? Even if it is analysis services, couldn't you structure your queries such that you had one that pulled US data and one that pulled Europe data and append them together? Or is it a Direct Query connection but then you wouldn't have to refresh...
There is a tie-in with Power Automate that you could use to update datasets in Power BI.
Anyway, I'm confused by exactly what the scenario is.

hi Greg,
sorry, it is little confusing. We use import option and refersh data from analysis services and then PBI runs based on imported data in PBI service. Refresh is using native DB query for connection to analysis services via gateway.
Analysis services does update for all regions multiple times, but that means it gets some region at middle of day. For PBI rpeorts, if we get the full refersh at mutliple times, we will get some regions through middle of day. Ideally, if i can refresh europe at 1PM but not get US data at that time since it will be in middle of day for US, and then get US data at 10 pm but not get europe data at that time, it will be ideal. Scheduing refresh of data from cube cannot be changed based on different schedule. For example, even if i add parameter to get only curent year data or get one region, it will be same for all schedules. I want to put one refersh schedule with one parameter and another refersh schedule with another parameter. Does that expain the issue?

Hi Anonymous ,
Just make sure that the data sources in both regions have been updated when Power BI performs the scheduled refresh.
I think you can find such a few points in a day.Best regards,
