Schedule Refresh Power BI Report Server
can i schedule power bi report on report server ( on - premises) ?
what is the frequency i can schedule like daily, weekly or monthly etc?
can i schedule report using direct query?
Hi powerbiexpert22 - Yes, you can schedule Power BI reports. coming to the second question,
When scheduling data refresh or subscriptions, you can use the following frequencies:
Daily
Weekly
Monthly
Specific days of the week
Multiple times per day
by defining starttime and endtime, repeat frequency of interval.
coming to the last question, No, you cannot schedule refresh for DQ, as you know directQuery always queries the data live when a user views the report. Therefore, scheduling a refresh doesn't apply — there's no data cache to refresh.

powerbiexpert22 Hey,
You can follow below step to fulfill your requirement.1. Scheduling Power BI Reports on Power BI Report Server (On-Premises)
Power BI Report Server allows you to schedule report refreshes and email subscriptions. Here’s how it works:How to Schedule Reports:
Step 1: On the Power BI Report Server portal, go to the report you want to schedule.Step 2: Select the report and click on Manage.
Step 3: Under Subscriptions, you can add a new subscription to schedule the report.
Step 4: Configure the subscription by selecting the frequency, time, and recipient for the scheduled report (email, file, etc.).
Frequency Options for Scheduling Reports:
You can set the frequency of the report refresh based on your business requirements. The available frequency options include:Daily: Refresh the report every day at a specific time.
Weekly: Refresh on specific days of the week (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
Monthly: Refresh on specific days of the month.
One-time (Ad-Hoc): Refresh at a specific date and time.
These frequencies can be configured within the Subscription Settings for the report.
Thanks

Hi rajendraongole1 ,
are you referring to power bi report server or power bi service? my question is for power bi report server ( on premises)
- rajendraongole1Super User
I am referring PBI Server, Yes, you can schedule data refreshes for reports hosted on Power BI Report Server but only for reports using Import mode (i.e., data loaded into the PBIX file, not DirectQuery).
Hope this works.
