Saving Desktop File & Updating Published Dataset

Hey Everyone

I'm sure I'm just missing something and it's really basic.

Whenever I update my desktop PBIX file in any way whether it's a visual, title, or any other small tweaks, the only way i've seen the changes applied to my published report on the Service is if I re-publish it all over again.

Should those changes be applied with a scheduled refresh, forced refresh, or anything like that or do I need to be publishing the desktop PBIX again every time I make an update?

Scheduled and manual refresh only update the data, not any visual elements. Re-publishing is the way to apply tweaks to the visual aspects of the report. You can edit the reports in the service too but that won't update the .pbix on your local drive.
