Good afternoon,
I used to have an account here but could not for the life of me get it to log in - just perpetual circles of signing in. Anyways, traditionally I've used PowerBI for non-sales based data but today is different and hoping my questions are extremely basic.
I'm looking to create new/returning customer metrics but tied to the product (ie, the first time a customer buys an apple vs the second time).
There are two questions I need immediate help with.
1) I want to understand the % of people who purchase the product only once, who purchase it twice, and who purchase it more times... what's the best way to get the "repeat customer of multiple times" part?
2) I need to understand the average time between purchases for these repeat customers buying the product.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Edit: I should also mention my tables are basically clean and tabular. The sales data has Customer ID | Product ID | Date of Sale and I have a calendar table
@seanpratt291 , A sample data would help.
But refer these two blog and video. They will give you idea how to approch the solution then solution

First , second purchase can be column Rank on date -Subcategory rank
For Rank Refer these links

Can you provide
A) a sample of the (relevant) tables in your model? In text-tabular format so that the data can be copied. Or just share the pbix
B) a more detailed (conceptual) explanation of how you would calculate both point 1 and 2, ideally based on the sample data adn withe the expected result. Particularly point 2, to eliminate ambiguity
Please mark the question solved when done and consider giving a thumbs up if posts are helpful.
