I've updated the data type in SSAS and deployed it to the server. I've confirmed the data types in Power Query Editor and Table properties, but these fields keep showing up as Text in Power BI rather than whole numbers or decimals.
Does Import mode not support data types in Power BI?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @dchen ,
Since you choose "Import mode", have you checked the option of "Type Detection"? Please select one of the first two options.
If you have selected, try to go to Power Query Editor, and detect data type. Please refer to this blog for specific steps.
Best regards

@dchen It does support data types. Try to create a new table and see if that works. Wondering if try to add a new table with the same query and see if it shows up as a number.

Thanks for the suggestion. I imported the table from SSAS and tried pointing a new table visual to it (was this what you meant?), but sadly still coming up as text...

Thanks for this tip and the blog link, Icey! Although this is still manual, it is definitely faster than one at a time. Happy Holidays
