Hello
We have a linked server in SQL server that points to an Oracle database.
And we create one view by selecting tables (with joins) in the linked server.
And in Power BI Desktop, we add the view mentioned above.
There was no problem in creating visuals and saving the Power BI file.
But when I re-open the Power BI file, some visuals (it can be one or more) cannot display the data. The error message is:
"Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "XYZ". The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface."
I used XYZ as a substitute for the real name of our linked server.
Has anyone encountered this problem? If yes, has you resolved it? And how?
It is very strange that some of the visuals can display data, but not the others. Yesterday, I had more than one visuals that had this error, but today, just one of the visuals had this error.
Yesterday, I re-created the visuals that had this error and saved the file. Today, when I opened the file, this error appeared again. It only happened to one visual. I do not remember if it is the same one that I re-created yesterday. But it should not matter, right.
Thanks.

Thanks for your information, Yolo. We changed our strategy by not using the linked server.
Best regards.
Hi @Andy__
1.Check to see if there is any data in the data source that has been modified, such as a change in the data structure or a change in the column name, which may cause Power BI to not recognize the data, which may cause the visual to not load.
2.You can refer to the followinf link. It describes that, it is better to match the service name.
Best Regards!
