Hello guys,
I am running into a data model issue, where it seems that I can't find any plausible solution for this.
Context:
Company Segment: Debt Collection Company
Data Model:
3 fact tables:
f1) reports the current amount for each case the debtor has open in our company
f2) reports the receivables from our debtors
f3) reports the agreements reached for each debtor and case.
Other Dimension Tables:
d1) case level
d2) debtor level
d3) date
and so on
Situation:
We are now conducting three distinct campaigns (email, SMS, and so on) for the cases that we have in our organization. The issue is that the incidents may appear in multiple types of campaigns.
Question:
I want to add a campaign name-based filter to a PBI table, to get the payments, agreements reached for the cases included in each campaign.. How is that even doable if my campaing table has no distinct values? I've tried with a bridge table, but doesn't seem to help either..
It is ok to have multiple fact tables in your data model. It is not ok to join them directly. Instead, they should all be controlled by common dimension tables (like your campaign dimension).
Can't help much without seeing a sample version of your data model.
Solved with a bridge table. Thanks
