Hi,

I Have created a report in power BI for other staff members to view in microsoft teams. The report contains informations about many different schools and courses within the college and I was wondering is there any way to set parameters so that when a particular staff member views the report it will only show them the school and course information relevant to them without using the slicers and showing all the other information?

Thanks for the responses everyone, I ended up using a different technique of creating filters in the url to direct to a specific view but the role-level-security that yous suggested also seemed like a great idea

You can add MS Team in the dataset->Security->add members

If you previously defined roles and rules in the Power BI service, you must re-create them in Power BI Desktop.

@Bmcgav , Yeah as per your requirement you need to implement RLS (Role Level Security) so as per Role (in your case College or University) users can consume the report which belong to their role (College). Visit this below Link to understand and implement RLS.
