I am working in Power BI Report Builder and my charts are clear in the application but once I export to Excel they become blurry. Exporting to PDF is clear but I need these to export to Excel specfically. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to resolve?

Hi @mhay12345 ,
Changing the DPI setting from 96 to 300 in Power BI Report Builder does improve chart clarity when exporting to Excel, but this improvement is only effective when exporting directly from the Report Builder application.
This is because DPI settings are applied during local rendering and export.
However, when you upload the paginated report to Power BI Service and export it from there, the rendering is handled by the Power BI Service's backend. This means:
You can use the Analyze in Excel option to connect Excel directly to your dataset. This allows you to recreate visuals natively in Excel, avoiding image-based rendering altogether.
Hope this helps!

Hi @AJ - thank you! Does this work if I upload the paginated report to PBI Service and then export it from the service to Excel too? Changing the default DPI setting in config files seems like it would be a local solution just if I use my own application and directly export from there?
