– Repointing Power BI reports from existing dataset to another dataset published in different worksp

Hi Team,

We are getting below error if we are going to point our reports from existing dataset to new dataset published in different workspace.

Below are the steps that we performed:

  1. Open report on Power BI Desktop and Click on Transform Data
  2. Go to data source settings
  3. From the list of Datasets, select the required dataset for the report.
  4. Click on Create.

But while pointing it to new dataset I am getting below error:

Could you please suggest how we can point our reports from existing dataset to new dataset.

Note: Both the datasets are published on premium workspace and I am member of both.

@adityaghui , OPen pwoer bi Service. Open setting of your dataset. You should see option for datasource credential .

If this disabled then you have on permise gateway , there you might need credentials.

Provide credentials and save and  check

This for source dataset.

Hi @amitchandak , Data source is on cloud and I have Chosen authentication type as Organizational using Microsoft account. Same dataset is working in workspace 1 and I can point all my reports to that but unable to re point if I publish my dataset to workspace 2 and try to point reports to that.
