I implemented Row Level Security using a Permission Table with users and assosciated departments that they can view. I then created a single role in Power BI Desktop based on the Permission Table using "[USERS] = USERPRINCIPALNAME()" and added specific users to that group in the Power BI Service. For users that do not have access to specific departments, the report still shows the visuals for the non-access departments, but it shows blank returns like the photo below. Is there a way to restrict users to select those departments from the slicer so that the blank visual below doesn't appear?
@tlorenztp your question is not clear, if you are filtering the department table based on the RLS then the user shouldn't be seeing the departments in the slicer since RLS will restrict what departments a user can see, or maybe I'm not following your question. If you can share the model and the data with RLS logic you have, it will help to understand the problem.
