Relationship between multiple date columns for date slicer
I am new to PowerBi and am trying to make changes to an existing report and have compounded issues for indirect relationships and a with two columns.
Scenario:
I am trying to add a relative date slicer to filter three existing visuals. One visual (“ReserveTable”) has a relationship with the DimDate table and is working as expected with the slicer. The other two visuals have an indirect relationship to the DimDate via the ReserveTable. I have tried multiple ways of creating new tables, relationships, calculated columns, USERELATIONSHIP, and measures and keep running into indirect relationship and ambiguity errors.
Current Relationships:
DimDate[Year Month] -> ReserveTable[month]
ReserveTable[Team] -> DashboardTable[Team]
Desired Relationships:
DimDate[Year Month] -> ReserveTable[month] (This already exists)
DimDate [Year Month] -> DashboardTable [StartYearMonthEO] (Start Visual)
DimDate[Year Month] -> DashboardTable [EndYearMonthEO] (End Visual)

Anon46 Right, so not a lot to go on other than create the relationships and use CALCULATE with USERELATIONSHIP in your measures.
Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.Greg_Deckler thanks for reply and sorry not sure what is meant by sample data as text. I would like the StartYearMonth and EndYearMonth highlights in DashboardTable to have a relationship with the DimDate[Year Month] so that the matrix visuals are filtered by the relative date slicer.
Current relationships (as shown in colored highlights):
ReserveTable[month] -> DimDate[Year Month]
ReserveTable[Team] ->DashboardTable[Team]
Desired Result:
Matrix 1- should have DashboardTable[StartYearMonth] as a column in the matrix visual and be filtered by relative date slicer
Matrix 2- should have DashboardTable[EndYearMonth] as a column in the matrix visual and be filtered by relative date slicer
Matrix 3- already has Reserve[month] as a column in the matrix and is working as expected since there is a relationship between Reserve[month] and DimDate[Year Month]
Please let me know what else is needed if this still isnt enough
