Maybe a simple error, or not using the visual as intended, but just checking before taking a different approach.
We have a matrix visual to show audit findings in relation to the audit they were brought up in:
However, the data source used here for the findings (imported from SharePoint) only contains the audit ID and the title of the audit. Any other information about the audit itself (like status, lead auditor) is in a different data source. So I made a one-to-many relationship between both audit IDs in the Audits table and Findings table. However, when adding the lead auditor field to the matrix, only one name will show up for all audits and findings:
When instead moving the field to Rows instead of Values, it works, but this does not provide the overview we want:
Why is the relationship not taken into account when the field is placed under Values? If this is the wrong way of doing it, what would be the best way to fix this?
Thanks for reading!
Hi @Anonymous
Since Matrix supports multiple dimensions, the Values fields are expected to be aggregated and return a single value. You always need to select an appropriate aggregation type for each value field.
You can try putting Lead Auditor into Columns well. For Audit Name and Finding Title, you can put them in Rows well. The Stepped layout feature may be helpful.

its taking it under account but see that the value option its set to first name, marix table doesnt make a list of the values inside the field, that you can achieve it with a simple table visual , tha matrix work for single value for values what you want in the value field wont work
