Reading Text Date Types as Dates For Fiscal Offset Table
Hello -
My organization has a dates table in their data warehouse that gives the Fiscal Year, Month, Quarter and Date for a calendar date because we run off a fiscal offset where our Year begins End of September OR the start of October ( What day in September OR October changes each year).
We have the date parts calculated but they are read in PowerBI as text because they are not looked at as date parts. When I change them to dates they error out. What I would like to do is get these to read as dates so I can have a hierarchy that flows correctly (for example Month goes in alpha not month order)
The Calendar Date is in the green box and the fiscaly fields I want to read as dates are in red.
Thanks
Mike
Hi MDeFelice ,
Have you tried to create a new hierarchy?
After the hierarchy is created, if you have sorting issues, you can sort by date column.
If you still have issues, please paste some pictures to let us know more about your scenario.

Liang
