RLS question on Page Level Filter and Slicer in the Report

Hi Expert

Question - If i have a Page level country filter and i set up a roles level security table in my Power BI report will the Page Level filter change dynamically based on your RLS Settings?

If would it be better to add a slicer to the Report and that slicer would filter dynamcially based on RLS Settings?

Hi @Anonymous ,

RLS will respond according to your filter.

if you have 2 persons:

person1 with RLS filter UAE, UK, Italy

person2 with RLS filter Brazil, Turkey

then when person1 views the report, the slicers will only see UAE, UK, and Italy.

same logic for the person2.

You can also try the 'view as' option in Desktop to see and check what they are currently seeing withthe report

The Slicer angle - i totally agree. But Page level and or Report Level Filter would not change dynamically, based on RLS

the level filter you can add to the RLS filter when setting it up.

So aside from countries, add other filters that you want to show only for specific group or persons
