RLS based on roles

Hi Team,

I have come across a scenario where user needs to switch his roles and see the data related to respective roles using RLS. But currently there is no such option given in power bi for end user to switch his role. As soon as user logs in  the data gets filtered based on his username and shows the results using RLS feature..

Please help me in solving this issue.

Thanks

Vinod

    Hi Vinodnag ,

RLS is divided into dynamic and static. Dynamic RLS means that different users log in and view different data. Static RLS is to display different data according to the role you choose.

When your roles are all set → Select ‘Modeling’ → Select ‘View As’ → Select the role you just set up → Select ‘Ok’ → then verify that the data is filtering as expected.

Here The End user when access the Report by Power BI APP he cannot switch his role in the Power BI App interface.

Only the Developer has this opportunity to switch the roles but the end user have no option to switch the roles in App, am i right? , this is what we need to enable to user.
