I'm using RLS on a PowerBI Report to limit data to the users' department on several visuals. I'm asssociating the RLS to a Filter on the report. When I test the role the data on the visuals updates according but not on the Filter itself when the Dropdown style on the filter. It works perfecly when I use the Vertical list and Tile style. The Dropdown style fits the report layout.

I would deploy it with no default selection to avoid the behavior you are seeing. The first time the users go into the report and make a selection, when the come back into it the next time it will show them the selection they made last time so they really only have to set it once.

Yes, but it also list the previous selection which blanks out all the data until I go and select the correct department. The filter will display the previous selection plus the department the user has access to.
"All" in the slicer simply means "No filter applied", show everything you have access to see. When you click the arrow to expand the dropdown slicer, do you only see the units to which they have been given access?
