Hi, I have a excel file on SharePoint. This file will be updated with power automate flow throughout the day with new row inserted each time.
I have to use the data in excel file on sharepoint and show it on power bi dashboard. How can I get latest updates on dashboard without end user manually refreshing data set?
My understanding is that live connection to excel online from power bi is not possible? Also refresh interval within power bi can be set to certain interval but no where near to real time?
I do see one option in power automate flow to refresh data set of power BI - https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/refresh-your-power-bi-dataset-using-microsoft-flow/
Just want to confirm if this is the only option to solve this requirement?
@ppm1 - Thanks for your response. Will this limitation of 8 refresh per day apply even if we refresh dataset from power automate flow and not use built in refresh schedule of power bi?
Yes. Without Premium, you'll be limited to 8/day.

You can use the SharePoint Folder connector to bring in the data from your Excel file. And you can add a Refresh a Power BI Dataset to your existing flow; however, there are limits. If you have a Pro license only, it will be a max of 8/day. If the dataset is in a Workspace with a Premium capacity, it is much higher.
