Query Editor format not matching Table view format

Hi,

  Couple of questions:

1) When I update formating to a certain Date format or the Uptime column as a % in Query Editor ( hit close & apply)  It is not updating the format in Table view in the front end.  What am I doing wrong?

2) In Query Editor the data is loaded in chronological order by day starting with line 1,  but it's out of order in Table view, as the top line is starting with January 14, 2023, instead of 1/1/2023...?

Query Editor:

Table View:

Hi @M-Beans

The way data is stored and displayed in Power Query and in PBI itself (in a a data table) are different.

As you've seen you can set your data in PQ to display as date and a percentage but it looks different in the table in PBI.

To fix this you need to select the columns in PBI and set the Format accordingly from the Ribbon

Note that all you are doing here is displaying the way the data is displayed, you're not altering the actual data.

Regards

Phil

Ok thanks.  So basically even though I've formated the data set in Query Editor it does not translate to the Table view so I need to format all columns twice in Power BI. Once in Query Editor and again in Table view?
