Dear all,
I have an inventory file, where there are 4 columns. Those columns I want to set in 1 selection (1 slicer). For this, I created for each column a mapping and then 1 mapping (I called it mapInvSelections) that should connect all of this. Then this mapping, I want to use in the slicer and then that I can filter here the columns of those that I what I want or in the combination of those columns. To get the result I wish to see. However, as soon as I make multiple connections to the mapInvSelections, I am getting an error of the ambiguous paths. Can anyone help me, as I have no idea, what I am doing wrong here and then also no idea in how to solve.
This is the error I am getting;
This is the schema that I am having;
This is what I want in the Power BI report;
Excel File; These are the mapping that I use. Where it is concerning the yellow sheets
Power BI File; This is the Power Bi report that I have for the testing
Excell file; Here's the inventory location excel file, I forgot to add
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Hans
A lot of these tables can bew collapsed/combined but here's how I would envision the data model.
Hello Ibendlin,
Thanks for the reply. But if I do like so, then I will need to create the slicers for the "Is Cost WH", "Inv WH", "Is HK WH" and the "Is NIAC WH". And I want to get those in 1 slicer and from there select or de-select to get the combination you need. Or am I mistaken and missing something?
You should not attempt that since the values come from different columns. Use separate slicers or - better - filter pane filters.
Hello Ibendlin,
Thanks for the information.
However, is it for the people, that need to work with the final report, it will be easier to have this in the slicer. However, as I may read from your remark, that is not possible the way I think could be. At least that is then what I think, you mean.
Then I will need to think for the way, to get all the columns data in 1 field (that it will be like "YYNYNYNN" and then to see to have the information for the actual selected of the slicer to get the same kind of string. And then from there make the filtering.
So we have something to think about and to figur out.
Anyway, thanks for your fast replies and the support.
Regards,
Hans
