Problem with dataset and RLS

Hello to tod@s,

I'm having a problem because I deploy RLS to one of my datasets.

I have the dataset "A", published in workspace "1A"

Access to this 1A workspace is unique to me by the admin and board of directors. Here we have all the datasets we have in our PBI environment and confidential information is handled.

From this area the respective data sets are shared to the different areas of our company. Each area of our company has its workspace to which the dataset of your area is shared. (Sales, marketing, logistics, etc.)

When we deployed the RLS to dataset "A", three roles were created, and the email with its pro license was assigned to each role. But after you publish this "1A" dataset, the other workspaces cannot see any data in any reports that have been created from this shared dataset.

I, as the dataset owner and PBI administrator, have no problem looking at the data, and if I go into any other workspace, I can see all the data in the reports created from this shared dataset without any inconvenience.

I was looking for solutions in the forum, and one was to share access to the "1A" workspace to the user. But this cannot be because all data joints with sensitive information are found here. With viewer permission, you can view all reports and datasets in area 1A but cannot view the reports associated with the shared dataset. If you are given member permission, you can now see the normal data

Please help me understand if I should add a role to the RLS with users who should not be restricted to data, or if there is any other solution I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your attention

Hi @Syndicate_Admin ,

Try to remove the users from the dataset permissions and report access, and share it again from the report UI.

Then on the report access and the dataset permission management pages, make sure that the users have access to the dataset and report.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Winniz
