Problem to import a text variable from an excel file

Hello,

I am trying to import an excel file which contains 6 text variables.  The third column contains value such as:

Col2

no value

00

01

10

010

185

and so on.

In the excel file, the variable is reconigzed as a text variable.  For a reason, I don't know, when I import the Excel file into Power BI, the col2 is converted into numerical variable.  Is there a way to keep the orginal format.

You can also disable the option so power bi cannot automatically detect data types. You find it under options -> Current File - > Data load

@Anonymous  you should be able to remove the changed type step from power query, do you go into the query editor?
