Problem - Date Hierarchies and drop-down menus in visualization options, table connection breaks

Hello, I have a beginner question (I installed the software few days ago), however it drives me crazy for the last few hours. I have a common column chart with some data with Date on axis. On drop-down menu, I see a selection of all possible options on Date Hierarchy, no problem.

However, on selecting any option, the connection to the existing table breaks and the table address changes, with no other options remaining in drop-down menu than to Remove field.

One day ago, I had no problem with this situation. This is the case in both Desktop and web-interface today.

On repair (and subsequential reinstallation) of the Desktop application, any process of getting any data, (including the replication of process to get the aformentioned data and report) and creating some graphs (to avoid any possible corruption in the former .pbix file) results in not getting any options in Date Hierarchy at all (although selecting the other option does not break the table connection).

Any ideas on how to get around this problem a return to "normal" funcionality of visualization would be immensely, immensely appreciated 🙂

There should be only four options in the Date drop-down menu according this article. So the last screenshot you posted is exactly as expected.

If you want to change the axis to Year, Quarter, Month or Day, please try with Drill function.

Best Regards,

Herbert

Thank you very much Herbert! Seems ok, although a bit unexpected...
