Powerbi Estimation

Hi,

 

we know powerbi is a self service analytivcs tool.

But we are in a situation where we are requested to develop powerbi reports and dashboard. client is asking for estimations.

 

Can someone provide details on how to estiamate powerbi work. please share if you have any template.

    If you are asking how many billable hours it should take for creating content, that really depends on the complexity of the content.  A simple report can be done by one person in less than a day, whereas a complex executive level dashboard with multiple underlying reports and complex DAX may take a team weeks to implement.

     

    There is also the option to develop content and host it via the embedded model, in which you (the dev) pay a fixed monthly rate for dedicated capacity to host the solution and you can negotiate with your client for a price (something like your cost for embedded capacity plus a premium/profit).

      I would add that you should scope the job and get a list of requirements and desired outcomes, then assess the current data environment (how much data scrubbing and ETL work must be implemented) in order to get a better idea of how much work will be needed.
