mobile reports estimation

below mentioned is my understanding on average time required to optimize power bi reports for mobile in general , is this okay?

simple report--> 1 hour

medum complex report--> 2 -3 hours

high complex report --> 4 -6 hours

  • Hi powerbiexpert22 ,

    Thanks for reaching out to Fabric Community Forum.

    According to official documentation, mobile optimization in Power BI includes manually arranging and resizing visuals in a separate mobile layout, along with testing and making adjustments. Because of this, the effort depends on the complexity of the report.

    Microsoft also recommends keeping visuals simple, showing only important information, and optimizing the layout for smaller screens. So simple reports may take less time, while complex reports can take more time due to extra visuals, interactions, and usability adjustments.

    Since Microsoft does not provide fixed timelines, the exact 1 - 6 hour estimation is not officially defined and can vary depending on the report design and requirements. However, your estimation still looks like a practical and realistic approximation based on the documented mobile optimization process.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

    I’m not completely sure there is a fixed estimation for all cases, but in general your numbers look reasonable to me, especially if the reports are already well designed for desktop. Sometimes simple reports can take less than 1 hour, while highly complex ones with many visuals, bookmarks or custom navigation can easily go beyond 6 hours depending on testing and adjustments for different devices.

    Best regards,
    Daniele
