PowerBi getting data from SAP B1 via service layer

I am trying to add this question to my original query, but it doesn't seem to work.

I started testing and ran into an issue. The SAP Partner provided instructions on how to get the data from the service layer. The instructions advises to use Postman and ingest the data via Web connection.

If I try Odata Feed, with the service root URL (https://<server>:50000/b1s/v2), I get the authentication popup followed by this error:

If I try going direct to the resource path items (https://<server>:50000/b1s/v2/items), I get this error:

If I follow the instructions and create an entity, and then and import the data from Web Page, I get the info I want, but only 20 rows.

Here is my get instruction in postman:

In PQE, when click on Source, I get this:

Advanced editor:

1. Is there a configuration issue on the server side preventing my to connect Odata or am I doing it wrong?

2. If I am forced to connect via web page, how do I get more than 20 rows of data?

3. Should I try another connector other than Odata or Web Page?

Thanks for the help.

Hi @cheese_za ,

You need to verify that the SAP B1 Service Layer is correctly set up to accept and process OData requests and ensure that the authentication method is correct.

You can try connecting to Power BI via an ODBC Connection, installing and configuring the ODBC driver.

Here are some helpful links for you:

Unfortunately ODBC will not be allowed on this tenant.

They advised: "Unfortunately no, ODBC is an old and very insecure option that is not allowed on our cloud. We can't have that open and remain secure unfortunately."

I have made some progress with connecting via the Web. If I configure it as per below, I can get all the data:

I need to test this on a larger table like OINV or INV1. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this post, I cannot access the new server. SAP says:

No company found; contact your system administrator.
