PowerBi.com-Salesforce Sync Issue:Data source error The 'Jigsaw' column does not exist in the rowset

Hi All,

I'm trying to connect to Salesforce with Power BI.com. The installation instructions I'm following is at:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-connect-to-salesforce

After step 5, I get below error:

You're viewing this app with sample data. Refresh failed.

And instead it ended up creating reports with test data.

I checked in Salesforce and Power BI.com setting, connection/login was successful. And when checked error details in Power BI settings, got below details:

Something went wrong
There was an error when processing the data in the dataset.

Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.

Hi, I know this answer is a bit late, but were you able to solve the problem? I've used the native Salesforce connector, but sometimes I've had some problems with my data. You may be able to try testing your connection with a third-party connector. I tried windsor.ai, supermetrics (which doesn't target PBI, so you have to export to Google Sheets first and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stuck with Windsor because it's so much cheaper, so just to let you know other options. In case you're wondering, to make the connection first look for the Salesforce connector in the list of data sources:

After that, grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on the "preview and destination" page you'll see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There you only select the fields you need. It also supports custom fields and custom objects, so if you've created some of them in your account, you'll be able to export them via windsor. Finally, simply select PBI as your data destination and finally copy and paste the URL into P BI -->Get Data --Web > --> Paste the URL.

Hi @Anonymous

I have no Salesforce subscription to test this. Could you first check if your account has met the prerequisites and requirements in the document you are referring to?

According to the error message Data source error The 'Jigsaw' column does not exist in the rowset, it looks like a column naming issue. When refreshing the data from your Salesforce data source, the Salesforce Analytics App queries a column 'Jigsaw' but fails to find it, so this error occurs. Did you rename this column at Salesforce side? Or is there something like a linefeed in the column name at Salesforce?

The following similar issues were caused by renaming a column.
