Hi,
I have a working connection to Impala from PowerBi desktop (Dec-2020) till last week. This week, I started getting the below error "ODBC: ERROR [08S01] [Microsoft][ImpalaODBC] (120) Error while retrieving data from in Impala: [08S01] : ImpalaThriftAPICallFailed".
From my laptop I am able to connect to Impala via Tableau and other tools. It is only failing via PowerBi desktop.
Anyone has faced a similar issue or have a suggestion for me?

Which version of powerbi are you currently using?
For now, you can try to reinstall the old version and wait for the next version to be released.
Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop
