PowerBI connection to MongoDB on Paralells (Mac user)

Hello, I am using a Mac and the company I work for uses PowerBi as a main viz tool. I am testing Parallels at the moment and I have downloaded and installed PBI.

Now I am trying to connect to our MongoDB. For this I am trying both ODBC and connector straight to Atlas.

For ODBC, I am following Mongo documentation, I have downloaded System DSN file and trying to add it, getting system error code 193.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Hi , @Anonymous

I don’t have mangodb here for testing, for your issue you can check this step:

1. get an existing Mango database ,download the latest PowerBI desktop Version

2. Install the latest  Mango DB ODBC driver

3.  create a 64-bit system Data Source Name (DSN).

4. connect to your ODBC

https://docs.mongodb.com/bi-connector/master/reference/odbc-driver

https://docs.mongodb.com/bi-connector/master/connect/powerbi

And you can check the version of powerbi 32bit or 64bit and then install the mongo db odbc driver as per the version and do the settings with direct connection and configure it locally. then in power bi Getdata through ODBC to connect the DB.

For this , you can refer to :
https://www.progress.com/blogs/mongodb-odbc-driver-for-data-integration-with-power-bi

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Enterprise-Gateway-with-ODBC/td-p/98959

And for your error code , it seems the ODBC side error code and i have found some related link about the error code 193, you can also refer to :

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
