I have built out a template in Powerpoint that I am embedding PowerBI data with for one of my external facing teams. I am struggling as I add the pages I have no way of using filters that go across every page in Powerpoint. Basically, I am bring over many different visuals and pages of a PowerBI report I created for this. Customer name is a filter that would be used through every single visual and want to have a single spot this updates for every page instead of having to adjust on every powerpoint page.
Hello,parry2k, thanks for your concern about this issue.
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.
Hi,@coryO .I am glad to help you.
According to your description, you want to keep the same synchronized slicer functionality for multi-page reports embedded in power point using live connections method. And there are some questions about this feature, here are some suggestions for you.
1. For reports embedded in PowerPoint in live mode, is the original slicer still valid.
For single page reports, the slicer still works when using Embed llive data.
For reports with multiple pages and a synchronized slicer, the synchronized slicer may not work properly as it does on Desktop and Service (the synchronized slicer does not work for the same report with different pages embedded in the power point).
I tested this and verified this feature:
The synchronized slicer is on and works fine on Desktop and Service. But not after embedding the PPT. (I can't rule out the possibility that it's a version issue)
2. For embedded in the PPT report data can be automatically refreshed
You can set auto refresh function for embedded reports in live mode.

Of course you can also export the entire report as a PPT, and each report page will act as a static presentation page (at this point the selected slicer options on the service will be preserved, and the same will be applied to synchronize the slicers, but they will all be static)
I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
Best Regards,

@coryO maybe have a slicer on the main page and sync it across other pages, and make it invisible on other pages. This way any customer selected will filter other pages as well.

@coryO what about report level filters on Power BI which will span over all the pages of the report.

We have row level security for our sales reps that they only see the accounts that they own. Basically I am building a QBR deck, I wan them to be able to pull in their customers in are template. Use the live data with different service/sale volume reports we have. After they have a QBR with a customer they would share that with the customer as static form of the template... Hopefully, that makes sense
If I pull over the slicer into PowerBI will it then, be able to work on every visual I bring over? For instace if I pull this over to Powerpoint with all the other visual I bring over will it be able to automatically update them in Powerpoint. For me the issue is the transfer to Powerpoint vs directly into the BI report
