PowerBI 101 question

Hi,

I am new to Power BI.  We have a power bi app that was done by a consultant using Project Online as the start.  Also our project online administrator has added a couple custom fields.  I copied the Power BI app to my desktop.  When opening at it, I do have a message "There are pending changes in your query that have not been applied".  I am assuming if I accept these, they will only apply to my local version and unless I do a publish, everything will be unaffected from the original one I copied.

Please confirm.

Hi @tinadouglass51 ,

Power bi dekstop is a local application for developers, all actions you do will just effect in your local position before you publish it to power bi service for further investigation.

Best Regards,

Yingjie Li

Correct, if you are in Desktop and refresh the data it only affects the local copy.

Unless publish, copy is local
