PowerApps Common Data Service as a new data source

Has anyone been successful in connecting the common data service database to Power BI as a data source?

I have created a test environment and database where I am the admin, followed the instructions, but I do see the button to enable the connection in PowerApps Admin.  I can see the environment from PBI but it does not complete the connection.

Thanks.

Hi @tlandry,

The Common Data Service connector is currently in preview and only available to a segment of users in the United States. So make sure your database region is United States.

In addition to being part of the preview group, to use this connector, you'll also need to:

  • enable the Power BI integration in the PowerApps admin portal
  • have maker permissions in PowerApps
  • sign in to PowerApps at least once

If you still have any problem to use the Common Data Service connector, I would suggest email CDSPowerBIPreview(at)Service.Microsoft.com for better assistance. Smiley Happy
