Power BI read aloud

Hi.

I have an issue each time I make bigger changes or open af Power BI file, there's suddenly a read aloud happening, even though I have it turned off EVERYWHERE. - I've checked every setting every where I can in the Settings. It drives me crazy, that each time I update a data source, connect to a new one, or just open another Power BI file it start to read the loading blocks aloud. "Loading queries", "Loading datamodel" and so on. Where and how do I turn this OFF? Even after turning down the voice assistant or the text-to-speech to 0 in availability, it still seems to go through in Power BI, it is really annoying, and uninstalling does not help.

    Hi Mehmot,

Thank you  for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

As a workaround, Search for Volumemixer or soundmixer in your general settings.

Under "Apps" you should see Power BI (You must have a Power BI file opened).  Turn the volume to 0

Turning the volume down isn't a solution. I hope someone is actually working to remove the bug that is causing Power Bi to disgrard the user's accessibility settings.

        Hi Mehmot  ,

  • Power BI Desktop is reading loading/system messages aloud even when Windows Narrator and accessibility settings are disabled. This occurs during PBIX opening, refresh, and data loading. Please fix the bug so Power BI respects OS accessibility settings or add an option to disable narration in Power BI Desktop.

For now, as suggested in the forum, I am using the Windows Volume Mixer to reduce the volume of the Power BI application. However, this is not an ideal long-term solution.
