Hi Community,
I'm having this Power BI update issue for a couple of weeks, where refreshing the database isn't updating the data. When I click the down-arrow for refresh options, only Schema is available for refresh. The 'Schema and data' and 'Data' options are greyed out.
I've tried resetting credentials, and clearing cache as suggested in other threads, but nothing seems to work.
Yes, Enable Load, and Include in Report Refresh are both ticked in Power Query.
I've tried the Refresh Preview approach as well.
Help please.
Hi @Kym_Todd ,
Could you please confirm whether the issue is resolved or if you've already raised a support ticket with Microsoft?
The issue is now resolved.
Thanks for following up to verify.
Glad to hear that, @Kym_Todd . Thank you for your response, and we hope to see you in future community discussions.
Hi @Kym_Todd ,
Just following up do you know if the issue has been resolved, or did you submit a support ticket with Microsoft.
Let us know if need any additonal information .
Hi @Kym_Todd ,
Thank you for engaging with the Microsoft Fabric Community. If this issue has only appeared recently, it may be related to the new refresh model. Consider checking if your source is set to Privacy Level- None. If the refresh options are greyed out, try clicking them anyway, as some users have found that it still initiates a refresh.
Also, review whether your calendar function is using outdated metadata. If these steps do not resolve the problem, If none of these help, it’s worth raising a ticket with Microsoft.
Thanks for your quick response @kushanNa .
Please keep us posted on what works , your findings help others in the same boat.
Hi @Kym_Todd
I have noticed that a few users have reported the same issue after the new feature update:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PowerBI/comments/1njb7gi/after_september_2025_upgrade_having_issue_with/
https://www.reddit.com/r/PowerBI/comments/1nky8xk/unable_to_refresh_multiple_tables/
Some users managed to update the data by clicking the data greyed-out button , so you could try that as well. However, it’s better to open a Power BI support ticket for this since it seems to be a bug.
To be more specific, the issue also seems intertwined with my Calendar function, which is not correctly identifying the max(data_date). If I insert today() in place of the max(data_date) it allows me to update the desktop model, but I don't understand why this has only started impacting in the last month.
