Power BI excel table refresh not updating data in powerbi

So i have a powerbi dashbaord with visuals, that is taking data from 3 differnt standard tables on excel, these 3 tables in excel take the data from 3 pivot tables that take its data form a external data connection. However when i go to press the refresh button in powerbi, it works but then i go to check the updated visuals and nothing changes. Ive then gone into the data tab on the left of powerbi and gone through the dataset and noticed the data is not updated. I have saved and closed the excel sheet before i refresh.

Anyone know why?

Are you doing this in Power BI Desktop?

Did you refreh the Pivot tables in excel file and then saving it?

Hey,

No this is in the desktop app.

My data in powerbi is connected to the 3 standard tables, not the pivot tables. 

The 3 standard tables are connected to the 3 pivots.

But because my data is connected to the normal 3 tables, when i change any values inside the 3 normal tables it should also refresh in the powerbi surely?

Yes it should refrlect the changes in the ideal scenario.

Are you trying to refresh using the following button:

Just worth checking that the files are on the same location which are refrenced by Power BI Desktop.

Hey yes i was.

I found the issue was because i wasnt connected using the onedrive link to the excel file.

So it would not refresh.
