Power BI Stacked Column chart generates values such as 1 2 in the axis after grouping

I have created a stacked column chart and for the columns, i had to group the values. For example "A" as Group 1 and B,C,D as Group 2 because, A always had more numbers to show and B,C,D are always the lowest. So, it was requested by client and i did it and now a problem comes with that is the appearance of 1 & 2 on the x-axis and also on the tooltip - it shows like Jan1, Jan2 etc.,

Of course 1 & 2 on the axis are displayed when the visual is clicked but on the tooltip it is always there when the mouse points at it.

Please see the screenshot for better understanding.

I'm thinking to create a custom tooltip to show custom values. But are there any other easy workarounds for it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Greg_Deckler , I found a simple workaround for now and it works!
I added a new calculated column for the grouping purpose with "Space" and "Double Space" for the differentiation and then used the same column on the axis in place of the previuos one.

I Thank you very much, for trying it for me when no others did not show any interest on it 🙂

Thanks again,
Vijay

Hi, @BI_Vijay

You can refer to @Greg_Deckler responses and adjust your datasheet. In case of difficulty, you can share the pbix file without sensitive data for testing purposes. Feel free to help you.

@BI_Vijay How is your x-axis configured? Did you create an ad-hoc hierarcy using separate Year, Month and then Group columns or ?

Hi @Greg_Deckler , Thanks for responding.

Yes, you are correct. I created an ad-hoc hierarcy using separate Year & Month and then the grouping for Value of "A" as 1 and all others (B,C,D etc.,) as 2.

@BI_Vijay OK, I was able to recreate this. Perhaps the best course of action would be to rename your groups to like A and BCD perhaps. See attached PBIX below signature.
