Power BI Report Builder - Page breaks in viewer versus PDF

I have a report built in Report Builder.  Within the Report viewer the page breaks are correct.  However, when I send the report to PDF the page breaks are not in the correct place.  Is there a fix or work around for this?

Thank You

Hi @rstephan,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum. What you're experiencing is a common challenge in Report Builder the report layout can appear differently in the Report Viewer compared to the exported PDF due to differences in rendering engines.

Here are a few things you can check to get consistent page breaks in PDF export:

* Try to set ‘Page Breaks’ carefully on groups and rectangles. In the properties pane of your grouping or container (ex: table or tablix), make sure the page break is applied before or after as needed. Avoid setting page breaks on multiple nested levels unless absolutely necessary.

* Also check page size and margins. Make sure your page width, left & right margins do not exceed the set paper size as if content overflows, SSRS tries to wrap or push it to the next page.

* Also once preview using ‘Print Layout’ view before exporting as this view closely matches how the report will render as PDF and helps catch layout issues early.

Let me know if adjusting these settings helps. If not, feel free to share more about the layout or a sample screenshot, and I’d be happy to help further.

If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.

Best Regards,
Hammad.

Hammad,

Thank you for your continued support.  Yes, we are still experiencing the issue with the page breaks not being recognised in the PDF version of the report.  I tried as you suggested to verify the width of the page and the margains.  Unfortuately, that didn't pay out. Are there any other suggestions that I could follow or try?

Thank You,

Richard

As none of the above help, at this point it may be worth opening a support ticket with Microsoft. You can reach out to Microsoft Support by raising a ticket with Microsoft Support. Please refer below link on how to raise a contact support or support ticket.
