Hi @jamuka,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
Thank you @rohit1991 and @burakkaragoz for the prompt response.
Thanks for the detailed response. Since you have already done the troubleshooting steps and the issue only affects this particular file and all other .pbix files are publishing fine, so the issue is something specific within the file. Please try the following steps:
If the issue still persists, I recommend please raise a support ticket directly

Dear @rohit1991 and @burakkaragoz ,
thank your for your answers.
My file size is 170MB.
I wait for several hours but still get an error message, also I can publish other files without error.
I checked support page and there's no service outage.
I resinged, use save as options and different workspace options too.
I also clear cache and delete AppData contents.
I'm not publish it to different region.
I couldn't try open it from a different machine.
I also try to open a ticket ( I have pro license) but couldn't find how to open.
regards
This ticket may be closed already but another way to publish a report is by importing it directly in the service.

Hi @jamuka,
As we haven’t heard back from you, we wanted to kindly follow up to check if you have raised any support ticket or is your issue has been resolved?
Thanks and regards,

Soory for late reply @v-achippa ,
I was on vacation. I updated the Power BI and it worked.
But before the update, I upload only last month's (july) data instead of whole year and it also worked, but I don't understand why it worked.
thanks for your help.
My report has sales data between 2025 Janauary - July. I only upload July and it worked.
Hi @jamuka ,
@rohit1991 , covered the main troubleshooting steps well. This "service couldn't be contacted" error is usually temporary, but here are a few additional things to check:
If the basic steps don't work:
Check your file size: Large reports (especially over 1GB) sometimes hit this error. Try reducing data or splitting into multiple reports.
Clear Power BI cache: Close Desktop, go to %localappdata%\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\AnalysisServicesWorkspaces and delete the folder contents, then restart.
Network/firewall issues: If your company has strict network policies, Power BI publishing might be getting blocked. Check with IT about whitelisting Power BI service URLs.
Service principal issues: If you're using organizational accounts with MFA or conditional access, try signing out completely and signing back in.
Publishing to different regions: Sometimes one region has issues while others work fine. Try creating a test workspace in a different region.
File corruption check: Try opening your .pbix file on a different machine. If it fails there too, your file might be corrupted.
The "Save As" suggestion from rohit is particularly good - sometimes the publish metadata gets corrupted while the report itself is fine.
Most of these errors resolve within 30 minutes, but if it's been longer than that, definitely check the Power BI service status page first.
If my response resolved your query, kindly mark it as the Accepted Solution to assist others. Additionally, I would be grateful for a 'Kudos' if you found my response helpful.

Hi @jamuka
This error usually happens when the Power BI service is temporarily unavailable or overloaded. It is often a short-term issue that resolves on its own. Please wait a few minutes and try publishing again. Also, visit the Power BI support page (support.powerbi.com) to check if there is any service outage in your region. Make sure your internet connection is stable, and if you are using a VPN or proxy, try turning it off. It also helps to restart Power BI Desktop and sign out and sign back in again. If the issue continues, try using "Save As" to save your report with a new name and publish that version. You can also try publishing to a different workspace or upload the pbix file directly through the Power BI Service portal. These steps usually resolve the issue.
