Error with Publishing Dataflows

I am attempting to publish a dataflow that has several different queries to a sql database, I am receiving the error listed below when attempting to publish the dataflow:

For query "FactCaseMgmt", Schema evaluation did not return TableResult. Actual result type: Cancellation, Evaluation cancelled, Message: Evaluation is canceled

The confusing part is that I had copied the Query steps from a PBIX file, where it currently runs every day without issue. It is also worth noting that when I attempt to publish, it tries to publish for an hour prior to returning an error message (extremely frustrating)

Would appreciate any help with this

Assuming that your query has exactly those data types clearly defined and no structured / complex column types, then your FactCaseMgmt query shouldn't have any issues with its schema. At least in theory.

Please raise a support ticket so an engineer and investigate further

Dataflows has a different architecture than the one used to run and evaluate the queries in Power BI Desktop.

could you please tell us what's the schema of the table mentioned in the error message ?

Below is a screenshot that articulates the columns and their data types before and after the two query steps of the dataflow

    Hi ccaudill

Thanks for reaching out in Microsoft Community Forum

To acheive this error, below are the reasons maybe occurs in power BI or SQL

    1. simplify the queries to reduce data volume or break them into small queries
    2. Please make sure to provide valid credentials for the SQL database in power BI service
    3. please check for any resource limits or power BI service issues that maybe leads to cancellation or timeout issues
    4. create the dataflow manually to avoid configuration issues inherited from PBIX file.
    5. use the performance analyzer in the power BI desktop to identify the issues in your queries before publishing
    6. Review the Admin portal to check whether the issue from queries or perfomance issue
