Hi @RobinPowerBI

Based on my test, I cannot reporduce the same issue. Please refer to the documnets Connect to files stored in OneDrive for your Power BI app workspace and  Get data from Excel workbook files.  It seems you may try to check the size of the excel. Here is the reference for you: Reduce the size of an Excel workbook to view it in Power BI. If it is not your case, you may submit a support ticket.

Hello, the file is less than 1MB. I cleared all formatting and comments and hyperlinks from the spreadsheet and this now works. The spreadsheet is collaboratively used in globally offices so I will need to set rules as Power BI seems not to accept these functions, maybe MS can look into this for future releases? Thanks for your help

Hi @RobinPowerBI

It seems you may try to Pin the spreadsheet to dashboard. Then share the dashboard with others. Here is the reference for you. If you have any concern on the feature, you can submit your idea here.
