Power BI Free Trial
Hi team ,
I had enabled the Power BI Free Trial, and it worked for 42 days. After the trial expired, I purchased a Power BI Pro license for one month.
Now that the Pro license has ended, I would like to know:
❓ Can I re-enable the Power BI Free Trial again, or is it a one-time option per user or tenant?
If not, what are my options for continuing to access Power BI features (especially sharing reports)
Yes, when you use Power BI Premium capacity, you can share reports with free users, and they will be able to access and interact with the reports without needing a Pro license. Just make sure that the workspace where your reports are published is actually assigned to Premium capacity (you can see a diamond icon next to the workspace name). As long as the workspace is in Premium, free users in your organization can view the shared content without any extra licenses.

You cannot re-enable the Power BI Pro Free Trial once it's been used. it’s a one-time offer per user or tenant.
Buy Power BI Pro again – Regain access to full features including sharing and collaboration.
Use Premium capacity at workspace level – Share reports without needing individual Pro licenses for each user.
Use “Publish to Web” – Share reports publicly online (not secure; anyone with the link can view).
If I use Premium capacity, can I share Power BI reports with free users who do not have Pro licenses? Will they be able to access the reports?

Once you’ve used the Power BI Free Trial, you can’t enable it again for the same user or tenant. The free trial is a one-time offer, so you won’t be able to get another trial after your Pro trial or Pro subscription ends.
If you want to keep accessing full Power BI features, here are your main options:
- Purchase Power BI Pro again to restore full sharing and collaboration features.
- Use Power BI Premium capacity at the workspace level. This allows you to share content with others in your organization, even if they don’t have individual Pro licenses.
- If you just want to share reports publicly and security isn’t a concern, you can use “Publish to Web.” Anyone with the link will be able to view the report.

I have been in a similar situation, so I completely understand the confusion when both the trial and the Pro package expire. As far as I know, Power BI Free Trial is usually only available once per user or tenant, so after using the trial and Pro, the possibility of re-enabling the trial is very low.
