Power BI Desktop asks for login and gives error connecting to OneDrive.

I just started using Power BI recently with an assessment from Microsoft and everything was going very well until last week.  Power BI desktop will not keep the sign-in information and when I open the app, it immediatlely asks for sign-in and then prompts 2 more times when I click "File" to open a saved report.  If I choose OneDrive from the File>Open menu, it says "Something went wrong".  My .PBIX file is located in a Teams location in SharePoint, and it has been working from there perfectly for 1 month along with one other team member.  Now I cannot refresh the data to it, nor connect to the file location, and the log-in prompts will not stop.

Has anyone seen this recently?  I am on version 2.122.746.0 64-bit (October 2023).

Hi @dhood ,

Checked with below options are Enabled:

Navigated to Options and Settings > Options > Security.
Checked the box for 'Use my default web browser' and 'Use updated sign-in experience’.

Hi, sorry for the late response.  This did not fix the issue.  I still have problems daily with the app, and It doesn't let me open anything from OneDrive either.  It doesn't give an error, it only says "something went wrong", or "general exception".

Hi @dhood ,

Try to disable WAM and let me know the result. Please add a registry key 'DisableWam' to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Power BI Desktop' to disable WAM.

I just removed the version of Power BI desktop that I got from the Company Portal and installed a 64bit version executable that I downloaded today.  I also cleared the browser cache.  It was still clunky to get my file to open properly, and it still won't let me open anything in OneDrive from within the app, but at least it seems a little more stable for now.

No Bueno.  I didn't have that Key in the registry, so I created it and added the DWORD value.  After starting Power BI, the authentication immediately went to the browser(Edge).  I selected the account to login as and it failed with this in the URL bar. http://localhost:51344/?error=invalid_request&error_description=AADSTS65002%3a+Consent+between+first...
