Is there an access log or another way to debug issues connecting to a data source?

We have a desktop file which we are trying to connect to a psql database. We are getting an error 

"An error happend while reading data from the provider: 'The remote certificate is invalide according to the validation procedure'

We recently updated our certificate so I am assuming this caused the problem. But we can successfully ssh from the machine running power bi to the server so SSL is working fine. I'm looking for a way to get more information so we can sort this out. Are there logs somewhere that can be used to provide the detail on why this is failing?
