Hi Guys,
Firstly, I have to say I am kind of new to the whole Power suite, so I might do some begginer mistakes.
I have built a report form my work team, to schedule Work From Home Days.
I also built a small form for them to modify the scheduling, that has a Power Automate flow behind to modify the data (excel).
The flow ends with a refresh for teh Power BI dataset.
What happens is that, after the flow runs, and the dataset is refresh by power automate, the change is not reflected in the visuals. I can see that the flow works, and the dataset is refreshed. I can see the refreshes done by api in the refresh history of the dataset, but the visuals update only if I refresh the dataset manually.
Could anyone shed some light onto this?
Im facing the same issue, did you find a solution? I find it interesting that i get my data through a form and when a new response is entered, powerbi visuals refresh with the newest old response but the newest is nowhere to be found.
Hello @CosminDogaru,
You need to be sure in your power automate that workspace and dataset is correct. I think when you run refresh from power automate button it refresh probably another dataset.

HI There,
This doesn't seem to be the case. Just to be sure I just now removed the refersh action and added it again in the automate flow.
It is pointing to the correct dataset, I can even see the refresh being done by the power autmate api, it's just that the visual doesn't update. It does only if I refresh it manually
I don't know if this is of any concern, but we are using MS Teams tab to run the report.
Thank you
HI @CosminDogaru ,
If you are refreshing the dataset using Power Automate it will only refresh the dataset not the report.
To see latest data in report you will have to refresh the visuals manually.
Thanks,
Hi Ankur,
I have tried this, since I saw it in another similar post. Refresh of the visuals doesn't work either.
Also, when I refresh manually the dataset, visuals get updated instantly, even if I have the report opened.
Hello @CosminDogaru ,
I hope you are checking in Power BI Service. Because if you click the button in Power BI Desktop, ın PBI Desktop visualization won't be changed. İt will be effected directly to Power BI Service dataset which you configure for Pautomate.
Kind Regards,

Hi there,
Yes, I am using the service, not the PBI desktop app. I have the report running in a teams tab.
Also checked directly in the Power Bi service and result is the same
