Pie Chart Legend not sorting properly

I'm confused why I cant get the legend to sort properly.   the posts that i've looked at indicate that you need to make a sort order column but considering that my fields are already numbers I don'...

    So i figured out the problem was that the chart sorting the wrong column.

     

    for anyone having the same issue as me, click on the 3 dots at the top right of the chart and change the "sort axis" to your legend field.

     

    i'm not sure why you can't sort a chart through the actual visualization or filter pane which is where you would think this kind of option would be but at least i found the hidden button.
