Good day, anyone noticed a change in responsiveness from the desktop app?
At first we thought the queries were the issue, we verified our server and system but all ran smoothly.
We loaded a blank model from an excel file with 5 rows and 5 columns, all values, no measure created.
It tool 45 seconds for the table to load and become accessible.
It takes about 4 seconds from the moment a field is clicked till it appears in the page
Despite the size of the file (9.78 KB), we experienced a really slow response time from the app altogether.
This is not observed on any other app or system running on the same computer.
Any idea?
This happened just today.
Sure, here are some metrics
RAM usage by PBI is 6.5% at most
Total RAM usage is 37% including bakground processes.
HDD has more than 20GB of free space.
Applied Options as recommended.
Restarted cpu.
The app is more responsive now.
The thing is nothing changed in a lapse of 24 hours, no BIOS update, no OS update, the version used for PBI is still the same.
Do you think that background dat could be one of the issue for the sudden loss of responsiveness?
What could have triggered this?
Hi, @Cyrilbrd
Please make sure you have the latest desktop version installed.
When testing PBI, make sure no other programs and antivirus software are interfering.

This is noted. Thanks.
@Cyrilbrd , Just check that RAM os system is occupied by other Application, Unusually Browser takes a lot of memory.
Check that the hard disk on which power bi installed has sufficient free space. More than 20GB
Try these settings with the Memory Management Cache of 8-10GB
