Performance Improvement

Hi All,

Let us assume i have 100 rows of data and i want to show data for 1 department alone in front end visualization that contains 20 rows.

Now i have to option

1. To create a measure and in that dax i can put Calculate(Sum([Sales]),Department="A") and drag it in chart

2. To restrict in Visual level filter.

Which one is good for performance improvement in direct query mode as well as in import mode?

Thanks in Advance

@Anonymous ,

You should use calculate in case of direct query.

Hi @Anonymous

They are the same, do what's easier to maintain ( CALCULATE is going to perform exactly the same operation )
