Performance: Conditional Column vs. Query Edit

Hi all,

I am wondering what solution for grouping my data works best regarding the performance since I am working with many data entries (I want to group percentages in groups like 0 -10% , 10 -20%,....). The grouping function in the report view is not usable for me wherefore I want to use a conditional column.

Regarding the performance does it make a difference if I set up a conditional column in the query editor or in the data view with if-formulas?

I prefer working with if-formulas since I do not need an additional ranking table and it it faster for quick editing.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

@Anonymous,

From my perspective, it won't make a big difference. You could consider a measure as well.
