Passing parameter back to report

Hi guys, is it possible to pass a parameter back to a dashboard from a reports embedded on it?

We have a number of reports that generte KPIs for different systems. some are ORACLE, SQL etc, but they different reports.

we dont want to recrete the logic and connections to get the KPI.

each report is embeded on an enterprise wide dashboard

We want to pass the KPI back to the dashboard so we can have an overall KPI per report.

if KPI indicates a problem, user can drill into that report for more  details.

Is this possible?
If so. how?

thanks

Ian
