Pass containsstring function to a calculated column

I have a column that contains lines of text with separators, what i am trying to achieve is to list down how many times a text appears in this columns. I know this could be done by containsstring function, but the problem is i want the search criteria to be dynamic. I mean i will input the search through a slicer and then the calculated column should search in the target column as provide output as TRUE or FALSE. I have tried using the SELECTEDVALUE function aswell but its not working below is the forula i am using

Example: "Sold to Partner ID" is what I am searching in Warnings Description column

Column = CONTAINSSTRING('Data War'[Warnings Description],"Sold to Partner ID")

This is what i tried, as I have a slicer that contains "Sold to Partner ID"

Column = CONTAINSSTRING('Data War'[Warnings Description],SELECTEDVALUE(Category[Warning Category]))

Hi,

I think you can not dynamically show the expected result by selecting slicer by creating calculated columns.

Please try to create a measure like this:

Measure =
CONTAINSSTRING ( MAX ( 'Table'[ID] ), SELECTEDVALUE ( 'SlicerTable'[ID] ) )

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Giotto

@Anonymous any reason why you are adding this a column, try measure.

Column = CONTAINSSTRING(MAX('Data War'[Warnings Description]),SELECTEDVALUE(Category[Warning Category]))
